It's been almost three years since Ezale captivated audiences, both local and national, with his "5 Minutes Of Funktown" video, a neighborhood-repping flip of a Whodini classic. The Oakland rapper's distinct dance moves became his signature, and his debut mixtape, Drug Funnie, was a welcome extension of the funk-sampling mob sound that has always been the basis for Bay Area rap.

In the time since, Ezale has been working closely with Oakland-based producer DJ Fresh, whose expansive Tonite Show series has featured everyone from Bay Area stalwarts like J. Stalin to canonized MCs such as Raekwon. The result of the duo's collaboration is the upcoming The Tonite Show with Ezale album, and the video for "We Want Some," which premieres on The FADER today.

For the album's second single, Ezale again looks to the '80s for inspiration, borrowing from 2 Live Crew for a late summer party anthem. "This song and video is about enjoying life and having a good time," Ezale said in an email to The FADER. "It represents me as an artist and this album with DJ Fresh. It's the summer and what better place to party at in California than the beach with beautiful women."
