Killer Mike is the killer of microphones, and perhaps "Driller Mike" will be the driller of big holes. As Exclaim! has reported, the City of Atlanta is currently conducting an online poll to name its new tunnel-boring machine, and as of writing "Driller Mike" is crushing it with 92% of the vote.
Bryan Schroeder, who pitched the name to the City of Atlanta's Department of Watershed management, gave this explanation for his pun: “Killer Mike chews through words and raps like he’s got diamond tipped teeth. A good role model for this drill, Driller Mike, to look up to!”
Mike has enthusiastically cosigned the poll on Instagram. "This makes me sooOoOooO damn happy cuz it's sOOOoOOOOO damn funny! @atlwatershed thank Y'all. I support my city and its many hard working employees and residents."
