Frank Ocean took his mom to the White House this week after being invited to a State Dinner by Barack Obama. While there he stopped to pose for pictures and gave a brief interview to the press gathered at the event. Ocean, wearing a suit with black and white checked Vans, was asked about his choice of footwear by one reporter.

"First time doing it," Ocean said of the footwear choice. "Probably because it's my first time here." When he was asked if the shoes were a statement of any kind, he added, "You can't think, you just have to do things."

Elsewhere in the short chat, the first time Ocean has spoken to the media in nearly three years, he said he's unlikely to play any concerts in support of Hillary Clinton in the run up to the election. "I think we're running out of time I might have to catch you in 4 years," he joked. Check out the interview above, via Frank Ocean Daily.
