On August 30, 2015, Kanye West announced at the MTV VMAs that he planned to run for U.S. president in 2020. Speaking to BBC Radio 1 earlier this year, West elaborated: "We are numb, we’re numb to 500 kids getting killed in Chicago a year, we’re numb to the fact that it was seven police shootings in the beginning of July...I don’t have views on politics, I just have a view on humanity, on people, on the truth. If there is anything that I can do with my time and my day, to somehow make a difference while I’m alive I’m going to try to do it."

Following the news that Donald Trump, a man with no previous governing experience, has been elected as the president in 2016, West's bid seems ever more plausible. He already had Quavo's endorsement — now, it seems much of Twitter is backing him to run for the Oval Office. See tweets from Flying Lotus, Questlove, and more Yeezy supporters below.
