Bridging the Gap, a weekly radio show broadcast on Texas Southern University's KTSU-FM hosted by Kim Burrell, has been canceled. The decision was announced overnight and comes in the wake of homophobic remarks Burrell made during a recent church sermon. Burrell referred to "the perverted homosexual spirit" during a sermon which was being broadcast on Facebook Live.

Burrell's Bridging The Gap debuted in 2016. The station did not cite a reason for their decision but released a statement to the press saying, “The Kim Burrell show is no longer airing as part of KTSU Radio programming.”

Earlier this week Ellen DeGeneres canceled the singer's appearance alongside Pharrell on her talk show. In a video published after the sermon, Burrell has said that she makes "no excuses or apologies" for her comments.
