Moonlight Wins The Award For Best Motion Picture At The 2017 Golden Globes

Director Barry Jenkins and producer Adele Romanski accepted the honor with grace.

For the finale to the 2017 Golden Globe Awards, the last category to be announced was the award for Best Motion Picture — Drama. Up against acclaimed films Hacksaw Ridge, Hell or High Water, Lion, and Manchester by the Sea, the tender coming-of-age story Moonlight took the prestigious honor.

Director Barry Jenkins, producer Adele Romanski, the cast, and team took the stage to accept the award. After thanking production company Plan B, distributor A24, and playwright Tarell Alvin McCraney for his story, Jenkins thanked the fans who continued to share the tale. "If you have seen this film and you’ve told a friend," Jenkins pleas. "All I have to say is please, ‘Tell a friend, tell a friend, tell a friend.’" View the acceptance speech above.
