New Edition's Spotify streams have increased by 637 percent in the past week, a representative for Spotify told The FADER over email. The seminal R&B group hasn't dropped an album since 2004's One Love, released after the group had become a quintet, but the uptick in streams is likely the result of BET's The New Edition Story, a three-part miniseries that premiered on Tuesday.

According to Billboard, the first part of the series was the highest-rated telecast in five years for BET, netting 4.4 million total viewers. The series also dominated social media, with top 20 trending topics on Twitter including #BobbyBrown, #Betamac, #MikeBivins, #CandyGirl and #LukeJames.
