Mike Hadreas, also known as Perfume Genius, was a recent on guest on the Song Exploder podcast to break down "Slip Away," a standout track from his recent No Shape album. Hadreas played the original demo version of the song, which only used guitar sounds, and producer Blake Mills and engineer Shawn Everett explained how they added different layers to the track. "This song could easily have gone full-on band rock and roll, and I wanted all of it to be prepared in a more subversive way," Hadreas said of the song. Listen to episode below.
