mobilegirl makes club music that balances R&B and techno influences with acrobatic grace. Raised in Munich and now based in Berlin, the dexterous DJ and producer is a member of the Staycore collective and, earlier this year, signed to DISCWOMAN's DJ agency. She's making her New York debut this weekend at Papi Juice, and to celebrate she's made a mix that, hands down, deserves to be your go-to summer soundtrack. It's got Aaliyah, a Daddy Yankee and Florentino mashup, and a handful of unreleased mobilegirl fire.
"I wanted to make a mix that is most representative of what I've been playing as club sets over the years but using new tracks," mobilegirl told The FADER over email. "I usually tend to put together really different things when I sit at home and work on music because I'm really affected by my direct surroundings, and this [also] applies to my own productions that you can hear towards the end of the mix. Some parts are quite playful, but overall I feel like it paints the right picture."
