Prodigy, whose passing earlier this week came as a shock to many, was at first unbelievable to Havoc, the other half of Mobb Deep, who thought the initial reports he saw were a joke.
On the way home from his son's kindergarten graduation, Havoc called his road manager, just to "ease his mind."
"The road manager was just crying, like I never heard before," said Havoc to TMZ. "I hung up the phone.. all this time I am still driving on the highway, I couldn't pull over."
"I can't listen to... any songs. I can hardly look at the pictures... I met him when I was 15, and now I'm 43... I just still can't believe it."
Prodigy was 42 at the time of his passing, and is considered an important figure in the shaping of hip-hop.
