Kahli Abdu is a singer from Jos, Nigeria who's now based in Rockaway Beach, New York. On his new single "Romantic Girl," he fuses Afrobeats with tinges of smooth pop to craft a sweet tune that's bright and alluring, much like the simple video above. As the woman struts down the frame, illustrations of the song's lyrics adorn her figure while Abdu sings of his desires for a tender lover.
"'Romantic Girl' is an ode to all of the sweet, beautiful women in the world, and the first in a series of songs I made to express my appreciation and respect for women," Abdu told The FADER over email. "Throughout my recording process I found myself surrounded by incredibly inspiring, strong women, and they have clearly influenced my music."
