Actor and Swet Shop Boys rapper Riz Ahmed was a guest on Jimmy Fallon's Tonight Show on Monday night. During his conversation with the chat show host, Ahmed talked about the violence in Charlottesville, Virginia over the weekend. Ahmed mentioned a song called "Sour Times" he wrote a decade ago that "attempts to get behind the headlines and work out where all this extremism is coming from.” The song dates back to 2007 and originally appeared on Microscope, a 2012 album released under his Riz MC moniker.

"I keep hoping it’ll become irrelevant, but it seems to become more and more relevant, sadly,” he said of the track. Watch his spoken-word version of "Sour Times" above.
