This morning Serena Williams shared her new baby with the world and the incredible journey she took to have her. The Grand Slam champion posted a photo on Instagram holding her new daughter, Alexis Olympia Ohanian Jr.
Williams named her baby after father Alexis Ohanian, the co-founder of Reddit. In addition to the photo, Williams shared a beautiful video on YouTube of her pregnancy journey. The video shows clips of everything from doctor visits to videos taken by Ohanian talking to their future baby.
One highlight of the video includes Williams with her Australian Open trophy and a caption that reads “they don’t know I’m 8 weeks pregnant.”
Williams also revealed that she had complications during her delivery and was required to stay in the hospital for about a week. “We had a lot of complications,” Williams says at the end of the video. “But look what we got. We got a baby girl.”
