Last November, web comedian turned serious artist Joji released his debut EP In Tongues, a watery meditation on heartbreak and longing. Tomorrow, Valentines Day, comes the deluxe version of the project complete with two new tracks, "Plastic Taste" and "I Don't Want To Waste My Time," and seven remixes from Ryan Hemsworth, Lunice, Lapalux and more. Today, The FADER is premiering the Lunice remix of "Demons."
The Montreal producer — who FADER profiled at home last fall — brings a touch of frenzied paranoia to the track with laser gun fire, glitching vocals, and an insanely creepy xylophone effect that probably wouldn't sound out of place in the escape sequence of a horror video game. The darker turn brings new meaning to the lyrics, "They're taking my heart, now / They're taking my heart, now / And I don't know why" — it's now less a quiet wallow and more a terrified accusation.
