What if the ending of Scarface was a happy one, without the gun battle and mountain of cocaine? That's the vibe in Nav's new music video for "Know Me," premiering today on The FADER. The Toronto rapper/producer embodies a "World Is Yours" vibe as he struts through a mansion splattered in glow in the dark paint, complete with slightly spooky dancers backing him up. It's understandable that NAV would be feeling himself: he's channeled an explosive SoundCloud career into a deal with The Weeknd's XO, and currently sits on three platinum plaques for the songs "Myself," "Wanted You" featuring Lil Uzi Vert, and "Some Way" with The Weeknd.

Over email, NAV told The FADER that "Know Me" began to take shape after an intense studio session. "I was recording on of a lot of my own beats & of other producers. When I ran out I asked my engineer Pro Logic to play me some of his own beats -one of the first ones he played me became 'Know Me'." After stressing that his clothes in the video are all his ("No stylist needed,") NAV teased more impending new music to follow his recently released solo project Reckless. "Lately I’ve been working on my own project with friends I’ve known for 10+ years who produce and write as well. I’m going back to my roots with this project."
