Un Blonde changed his name, but he’s still a magic mood conductor

Light a candle for Un Blonde – Jean-Sebastien Audet has retired his previous moniker after last year's stunning Good Will Come To You, and will release his next album The Same But By Different Means as Yves Jarvis. Today, The FADER is premiering its first song "fruits of disillusion," and it sounds like a sibling of the Montreal experimental artist's last full-length – his style evokes uncovered recordings from an obscure spiritual retreat, ones that make you believe something transcendent was near when they were made. Check out the song's video above, in which Audet communes with nature and even gives it a special concert.

“I felt like I had found, finally, phonetically, the perfect project name with Un Blonde,” Audet said of the name change in an email to The FADER. “I thought it evoked the proper imagery for all the shit I wanted to do.” The Same But By Different Means is inspired by the color blue and "the pain of the night before sleep," whereas Good Will Come To You was the album of yellow, Audet's favorite color.
