Taylor Swift has confirmed the release date for her Netflix documentary Miss Americana. The film, directed by Lana Wilson, will land on the streaming service on January 31 after it premieres at the Sundance Film Festival on January 23.

Described as "raw and revealing" upon its announcement, Miss Americana was the subject of debate over Swift's back catalog last year. Swift claimed that Scooter Braun, who owns the masters of her first six albums, had refused Wilson and her team the rights to use songs in the documentary. She added that Braun would only change this stance if Swift agreed to stop criticising him and assure him she will never re-record her albums, thus cheapening his assets. It was subsequently reported that the rights were cleared “within a timely manner.”

Swift’s latest album, Lover, arrived last August. She is on tour throughout 2020 and will headline U.K. festival Glastonbury for the first time in June.
