The Strokes are teasing something big. The band shared a silent video to their social media pages featuring the 1981 Jean-Michel Basquiat painting “Bird on Money” overliad with the title The New Abnormal.

It's not clear from the caption-less post whether it's an album or not, but it would be long overdue if so. The band's last studio album was 2013's Comedown Machine and they've only released an EP, 2016's Future Present Past, since then. Last spring, the band debuted a new song "The Adults Are Talking," and earlier this year at a one-off show, lead singer Julian Casablancas told the crowd the band would be releasing a new album sometime this year. This same show also saw the band perform another new song, "Ode to the Mets," though it isn't clear if either song will end up on said upcoming album. In the meantime, the band is set to perform at a rally for Democratic candidate Bernie Sanders in New Hampshire before a short North American tour.
