In an email, he explained how his admiration of the eclectic nature on Kanye West's My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy inspired his current style and this song: "I don't think most people would think to pair my phrygian-mode violin fanfare with Key!'s delirious wailing or Young Nudy's manic sputtering, and that's why I like the idea so much. Their particular vocal styles are critical to achieving the wide tonal range that I wanted for this record."
