Slowthai has announed details of Happyland, a brand new festival to be held in his hometown of Northampton, England. The inaugural event will take place on September 25 at Northampton Cricket Ground and will be headlined by slowthai himself. Tickets are available from Friday, May 14.
Joining slowthai on the Happyland bill are a list of acts curated by the rapper. They include rising acts Pa Salieu, Greentea Peng, Shygirl, and Beabadoobee alongside punk band IDLES and indie act Easy Life.
Speaking about the event in a statement, slowthai said: "Happyland with happy folk. The place where we can laugh and joke. The place you can be yourself without judgment, expectations and impressions of someone else. The space from the shackles of the everyday. The mountain where we climb to run away. Imagine what you’ve never had when you come to Happyland - you will never be sad.”
Slowthai released his latest album Tyron earlier this year. The release, his follow-up to 2019 debut Nothing Great About Britain, went to Number One in the U.K.
