Peggy Gou is one of the biggest DJs in the world, so new music from the South Korean artist is always an event in the world of electronic music. Today she returns with "Nabi," her first single since 2019. The sun-bleached house music of the early '90s is the vibe here, with OHHYUK of the South Korean rock group Hyukoh providing guest vocals. The combined effect is the kind of dazzlement you get from light dancing off of ocean water on a hot day: pure dopamine-activating bliss.
Speaking with Apple Music's Zane Lowe, Gou called "Nabi" a "nice summer song." "The chord came from Eric Satie's piano sheet that I would use to play," she said. "The very first two chords, that's where I got the inspiration from. During the lockdown, I was listening a lot of Sade, nineties music... She's my idol."
