"dirty dancer" is an intimate and tender ballad about feeling like you're not ready for love and how the thought lingers in your mind. "When the lights go down that's when the demons come out," she sings over the gentle back-and-forth sway of the beat. "It's a long way back and time running out." When Orion Sun sings about waiting by the phone, at crosswalks, and in grocery lines, you can feel the toll of these feelings of loneliness.

"'dirty dancer' is about feeling like you're not good enough," Orion Sun said about the song in a statement. "The thought can really consume your mind. It's about working on my shit for me, but also so I can love the best way I can, not just the best way I know how."

In October 2021, Orion Sun shared the Rostam-produced "concrete." Her last project was 2020's Hold Space For Me, which included the stunning "Coffee for Dinner."
