Daniel Caesar has pulled back the curtain on the first offering from his forthcoming third full-length, which does not yet have a title or release date. Between his Friday Coachella sets, the first of which saw Justin Bieber join as a surprise guest to perform their chart-topping collab "Peaches," Caesar has shared "Please Do Not Lean." It's his first official single since 2019's Brandy duet "Love Again," and the first music he's shared since signing with Republic Records earlier this month.

The new song is a soulful slow jam featuring impeccable instrumentation from Canadian fusionists BADBADNOTGOOD. "Please do not lean on me, I'm unstable," Caesar sings on the chorus, setting a romantic partner free from a relationship he knows is doomed from the start.

“‘Please Do Not Lean’ represents a deeper understanding of myself and acknowledging the responsibilities I currently hold, respecting them and knowing my limits of when I can take on more,” he explains. “This is an introduction to the sound and tone of the next chapter in my career.”
