Takeoff's funeral arrangements have been made public one week after the rapper was shot and killed. The event will be held on Friday, November 11 at the State Farm Arena in downtown Atlanta with New Mercies Christian Church pastor Jesse Curney III officiating the service and providing the eulogy for the late Migos star.
The public event will begin at 12pm local time with free tickets available to Georgia residents starting today, November 8 via Ticketmaster. The public memorial will follow a strict no photo and no video policy. All devices will be checked with Yondr bags prior to entering the arena. Media will not be allowed entry to cover the event. The family has asked that donations should be made to The Rocket Foundation.
Drake has pushed back a New York show scheduled for the date of the funeral as a mark of respect. "The Apollo show has been moved to allow us to pay respect to our dear friend this weekend," he wrote in an Instagram story on Monday.
Police in Houston are still urging any witnesses to the fatal shooting that led to Takeoff's death. Takeoff, real name Kirsnick Khari Ball, was shot and killed in the early hours of November 1 following a private party at 810 Billiards & Bowling in the city.
In the immediate aftermath of Takeoff's death tributes were paid from fellow artists including Gucci Mane, Rae Sremmurd, and more.
