New York City's swamped dance music scene can often be overwhelming to explore, but there are a couple of producers that come to mind when introducing folks to its dynamic, distinctive diversity. WTCHCRFT's hip-hop-influenced techno stylings and DJ Swisha's unique blend of east coast club, juke, and ghettotech have catapulted them to the top of the city's must-see live list, but their releases hold up just as well.

WTCHCRFT's prolific output has only increased this year, and this week, the Brooklyn-based beatmaker has released his latest Wet Lung EP via Nene H's new non-profit imprint, UMAY. Full of five rave-ready tracks, the DJ Swisha remix of "Bagituh" is the precursor for people to experience what New York City is all about. Playing off of WTCHCRFT's original vocal-driven melody, Swisha's aggressively gritty bounce adds a blazing drive to the tune, swaggering siren-like synths, and crazed drums that are geared up to blare on the nearest sound system.

"Pretty early on in the process of the EP, we knew we wanted some on from the New York scene to do a remix for us just to kind of showcase two NYC people coming together," WTCHCRFT tells The FADER. "Immediately [Nene H and I] thought about Swisha, as our style of producing and structuring are similar, but not completely the same. We sent him the stems and after what he says is 'a quad shot of espresso,' he came back to us with this crazy remix. In my opinion, [it] is unlike anything I’ve actually heard from him before so that was incredibly exciting."
