Ms. Lauryn Hill used her headline set at the annual Roots Picnic on Saturday, June 3, to stage a surprise Fugees reunion. The group, Hill plus Wyclef Jean and Pras Michel, performed six songs on the night, including "How Many Mics," "Ready or Not," and "Killing Me Softly." Fugees last performed together in 2021. They had been scheduled to embark on a full The Score anniversary tour but canceled the run of dates after first postponing them due to the pandemic.

In April, Pras Michel was convicted of federal conspiracy charges. He faces 20 years in prison after being found guilty of cimes including conspiracy, campaign finance violations, money laundering, illegal lobbying, witness tampering, and acting as an agent of a foreign government without registering as one.
