The fuck is “SkeeYee”? It’s when you tell a guy to pull up, and also when you swerve him anyway — he wants to fuck with you but you’ve got him stuck. SkeeYee is the baddest bitch showing up to the club, single-handedly turning the party, and the sound of the jewelry on her wrist. Sometimes SkeeYee’s just “Skeeeeyeeeeee,” plain and simple.

Sexyy Red knows the power of her creation. Online, you can find her retweeting the stories of fans who almost crashed their cars or unblocked an old fling under the influence of “SkeeYee,” a standout from her new mixtape Hood Hottest Princess. The St. Louis rapper delivers her bodacious bars in this ridiculous flow — a little bit Carti, a little bit Uzi, hot-wired for maximum Southern rap horsepower — but with so much confidence on the mic, it’s hard not to buy the bad bitchery Red’s selling.

In 2022, the biggest breakout from a female rapper was Glorilla’s “F.N.F. (Let’s Go)." It was messy and unkempt and we loved it for that — DIY HitKidd beat and all. But after five years in the game Sexyy Red’s not going for rookie of the year; on “SkeeYee” she links up with Drake collaborator Tay Keith, and he gets those pianos and 808’s sounding expensive. This is hi-fi rap production that screams “opulence, you own everything.” Now go listen, but proceed with caution. There’s no telling what you might do when you’re feeling yourself this much.
