Tkay Maidza and Flume are in the zone on new collab “Silent Assassin”

The single, designed to channel Missy Elliott and Busta Rhymes, comes with an armor-plated music video directed by Milo Lee.

It's always thrilling to see Flume in rap producer mode. His contributions to Vince Staples' Big Fish Theory were some of the most attention-grabbing parts of that record; same goes for his JPEGMAFIA collab on 2019's "Hi this is Flume" mixtape. On "Silent Asassin," his new link-up with Tkay Maidza, both artists are most definitely in the zone.

“I like to move in silence, but this song is a reminder that people shouldn’t count me out or underestimate my abilities; they should be afraid when I'm quiet as I come back more evolved,” Tkay says in a press release. “I’ve always wanted to work with Flume and was immediately ecstatic when he played the instrumental for this; I wanted to channel Busta Rhymes and Missy Elliot.”

"Silent Assassin" follows "Nights In December," which Maidza released at the end of last year. She's also shared upcoming Australia and New Zealand tour dates for July and September, where she'll be supporting Lizzo as well as Flume.
