The 2022 movie Bones and All featured a pair of tender performances from Timothée Chalamet and Taylor Russell, alongside a dark and unctious turn from British actor Mark Rylance. The cannibal romance hit a chord with Ethel Cain, who wrote the song “Famous Last Words (An Ode To Eaters)” after watching it, dropping it on SoundCloud soon after. The song has remained an internet loosie until today, with Cain sharing an official video and making the audio available across DSPs, too.

The “Famous Last Words (An Ode To Eaters)” video is a suitably claustrophobic affair, capturing the artist as she lets the light in to a grungey apartment. The visual is directed by Hayden Anhedönia (Ethel Cain) and Silken Weinberg, who previously helmed Cain's "American Teenager". The track also marks the first single from Givenchy creative director Matthew William's new 1017 ALYX 9SM collaboration project, described as a compilation "featuring music from our friends, collaborators and favorite musicians."

Furthering Cain's status as a fashion world darling, this week she appeared alongside actors Mia Goth and Emma Corrin as part of Miu Miu LIVE! FW23 campaign.

Cain is on tour across North America and Europe this summer, having recently taken a short break after collapsing on stage during a performance in Sydney, Australia.
