Yeat's 2023 album AftërLyfe, released in February, gave the nascent rap superstar a massive streaming debut while dividing fans over its sound, ambitious in its reach to a point where it felt like a conscious distancing from the rage-adjacent rap that made him a star. “bigger thën everything,” his new single, splits the difference.
Produced by his go-to beatmaker BNYX, Yeat's new single brings back certain fan-favorite elements — like the bell — though the beat is built on the kind of soulful piano keys that Kanye West once favored. I don't see this one blowing up on TikTok, but you can't fault Yeat for trying to grow. Hear the song in the music video below, directed by Lyrical Lemonade's Cole Bennett and featuring a BNYX cameo.
