FKA twigs has announced that she’ll be taking a break from releasing music in the near future. “no new music for a while bye,” she wrote in an Instagram story this past Saturday (October 14), claiming 85 demos from her vault had been leaked.
Another story from twigs, posted the same day, showed a screenshot of an iMessage conversation with Irish-Chilean electronic producer Salvador Navarrete (aka Sega Bodega). Naverette had sent twigs a screengrab of comments on a tweet about the situation — one dismissive (“Don’t act like u were ever gonna release it”) and one lewd (“PLEASE let me suck your [REDACTED]“). “I hate them so much,” Naverette wrote. twigs’ IG story adds another layer of text over the iMessage text box: “back to the drawing board.”

Since releasing CAPRISONGS in January 2022 — The FADER’s 46th favorite album of the year — FKA twigs has dropped a number of music videos, as well as several new singles. In 2023, she’s connected her music and modeling careers, teasing new songs in a March Calvin Klein commercial and during a Valentino show at Paris Fashion Week earlier this month.
