PinkPantheress accidentally missed an important text from Kendrick Lamar while she was on a movie date.
In a recent cover interview with i-D, the U.K. singer revealed that her phone was on silent at the request of her date, resulting in her missing an invitation from Lamar to work together in the studio.
“Oh f—, I can’t even think about it,” PinkPantheress said. “I was watching Nightcrawler with this guy.” And in the end, the pop sensation missed a chance to be featured on one of Lamar’s forthcoming tracks — all thanks to a boy.
That said, PinkPantheress can still say she’s collaborated with a number of prominent artists, including Destroy Lonely, who joined her on a song ironically titled “Turn Off Your Phone" this past July. And lest we forget, she also has tracks featuring other musicians on her debut studio album, Heaven knows, including Kelela and Central Cee. So here's to hoping for a Lamar collaboration sooner rather than later.
Heaven knows is slated for release on Friday, November 10.
