The Dove Shack rapper C-Knight has died

The G-funk artist had been on life support after being hospitalized on October 18.

G-funk pioneer and The Dove Shack founding member C-Knight has died, TMZ reports. He was 52 and had been hospitalized in mid-October with high blood sugar levels. On Tuesday it was reported that he had suffered complications whille in the hospital and was place on life support after going into cardiac arrest.

The rapper, born Arnez Blount had previously suffered from a stroke while receiving dialysis in the hospital, his father told TMZ. The decision to take him off life support was made after it was reported that he was in an unresponsive state and showing no sign of improvement.

On Tuesday evening, C-Knight's bandmate Bo-Roc shared an Instagram post mourning the loss of his friend. "On my soul I love you bro and I already don't know what the fuck to do wit u being gone," he wrote.

The Long Beach-based MC is best known for his contributions to West Coast rap in the ‘90s with The Dove Shack, the collective he founded 1994 with 2Scoops and Bo-Roc. With ties to the likes of Nate Dogg and Snoop Dogg, the collective was featured on G-funk legend Warren G’s debut album, Regulate … G Funk Era before releasing their own hit single, “Summertime in the LBC.”
