Unflirt, “Air Turns Blue”

British indie popstress Unflirt is back with a lilting new tune (released via FADER Label) where she sings about love in almost psychedelic terms. I could imagine this song, with its rich instrumentation and driving drums, soundtracking a montage in an early-2000s rom com, but it also feels totally 2026. — Tobias Hess

The Avalanches feat. Nikki Nair, Jessy Lanza, and Prentiss, “Together (Frost Children Remix)”

Frost Children’s remix of “Together” is a fresh take on The Avalanches’ often smooth sound and a thrilling union of two EDM giants from a generation apart. The track combines The Avalanches’ musical optimism with Angel and Lulu Frost’s pounding and propulsive production, creating an electronic synthesis for the ages. — Yuuki Lubin

Victoria Monét feat. SZA, “See You In My Dreams”

Victoria Monét and SZA’s voices blend into heavenly harmonies as they sing about “sleeping on” an ex who now haunts their dreams. Built around a jazzy interpolation of Suzanne Vega’s classic “Tom's Diner,” the production slaps like a sweet, scorned lullaby. — Kylah Williams

Romy Mars, “The Rage”

Romy Mars’s teenage pop has charmed me since the release of “A-Lister.” On her latest, Mars — the daughter of Sofia Coppola — tells a tale of heartache and rage with details that could only come from her upbringing: “Now you're in film school studying movies / When they talk about my family do you lose sleep?” — TH

sahn, “HOW LONG”

Somali-American singer sahn is preternaturally self-possessed on his debut album ten thousand mistakes. Lead single “HOW LONG” perfectly channels the quiet yearning that seems to descend on everyone as summer fades. It’s the perfect alt-R&B album for the autumn. — VM

kimj, “HENNESSY SPINNA”

Since releasing his album KREATURES in June, kimj has been on a roll. His most recent single “HENNESSY SPINNA” features one of his frequent collaborators, audiogothh (who was formerly one half of Extra Small), and seamlessly pairs kimj’s signature hard-hitting EDM production with audiogothh's shifty vocals. — Logan Lacy

DJ_Dave,“Give it 2 me”

DJ_Dave’s ineffable pop EDM hides a secret on her laptop screen: all of her music is live-coded off of open source software. “Give it 2 me” off her new album Hardcore Software enlists fellow infohazard expert Ninajirachi for a twinkling, bass-heavy jam. — VM

jackzebra, “Snatch”

GEN F star jackzebra’s newly released Zhuang Zhuang Mixtape sees the Chinese rapper flex his sonic versatility, bringing a wide range of vocal performances across a spectrum of eclectic beats. “Snatch” is a standout track, with jackzebra murmuring monotone rhythms over a melancholic sstepteam track. — Logan Lacy

Zsela, “Kinda Guy”

“Kinda Guy” by Zsela is co-produced by Zack Sekoff, who is on quite the run following his inventive work on Tinashe’s Popstar. The track sounds like a twangy country crooner was cut up like a collage, layered and blanketed with surprising guitar textures. — TH

HYUKOH, “losing day”

“losing day” is the latest from South Korean indie band HYUKOH. Its upbeat tempo almost hides the fact that its actually quite self-deprecating. On this pre-breakup anthem, frontman OHHYUK coolly hums over flute and saxophones, welcoming the demise of an unraveling relationship. — India Roby
