Jeremy Scott’s Cartoon Savannah
Jeremy Scott’s first collection for Adidas, released earlier this year, was a glittery-gold selection of irresistibly cut (wearable) harem pants, sequins, sporty fringed tanks and coveted winged hightops. His next installment abandons his black-gold-and-silver, Studio 54 color palette for a hue explosion and elongation of the tribal streetwear trend pioneered by MIA and Cassette Playa. Leopard-spotted sweatshirts, global mapped bodycon dresses and “tribal mask”-printed, exposed-pocket track suits all make appearances in this eminently watchable video collaboration with the video director Nabil. Appropriately, The Very Best, Esau Mwamwaya, MIA and Santigold soundtrack the trampoliney splashing around his collection apparently demands.

Style Q+A: UNDRCRWN
- story THE FADER
The new UNDRCRWN x Adidas sneakers dropped earlier this week, a mini collection that’s essentially a footwear homage to winning, in three parts. The label has admittedly been making champion-shaped holes in the game since its inception, sitting as it does at the very intersection of basketball and style. We’ve had our eye on them since those Biggie tees came out and recently had a chance to talk to Dustin Canalin and Bryon Sheng, the creative minds behind UNDRCRWN, about the new collaboration, as well as some archival favorites.
Q+A: Estevan Oriol
- story THE FADER
Adidas and Undefeated recently released 1979, a limited edition collaborative book with photographer Estevan Oriol, emphasizing the deep relationship of basketball to street wear and culture. The book comes with the purchase of the reissued 1979 Top Ten sneaker. We hit up Estevan in LA and talked to him about the book and some of the stories behind the photos. Check the interview after the jump.
FADER TV: Gilbert Arenas Interview
- story THE FADER
Gilbert Arenas rolls out the beginning of his sneaker opus this month, a 20-piece limited collection of kicks which he will be sporting on the court throughout the season. If your familiar with his blog, then you won’t be at all surprised by the awesome random energy of his new line—there’s a sneaker dedicated to his two kids, another to Benihana’s Hibachi grill, one really dope pair designed by FADER homies Undrcrwn and another that pays homage to his 8-hour-a-day X-box habit. FADER contributing style editor extraordinaire Mobolaji Dawodu paid Gilbert a wee visit when he was in town last month, and here’s a little sampler of what went down in their style tete-a-tete.
