Trey Songz f. Juelz Santana & Fabolous, “Say Ahh” MP3
- story Felipe Delerme
“Say Ahh” needs to marry this song and become the 2009 pop R&B hit version of Ashford and Simpson. We might’ve said Mary J. and K-Ci, but we want this to last. And by “this” we mean Trey Songz discarding his Tiger Beat cover panhandling and talking about what he knows best: getting girls drunk and having sex with them.

Fabolous Live at Reebok Classic Concert NYC
- story THE FADER
Fabolous‘ Loso’s Way has, despite all odds and prognostications, become one of the biggest records in New York this summer, so when he rolled back into town on the Reebok Classic Remix Concert Series last night, we had to go see what was up. Fab, of course, proceeded to do nothing but his past street classics, totally acting like the last several years never happened. No beef! We are BIG fans of he and Lil Mo’s 2001 jam “Superwoman,” and we managed to film him doing it in high definition (no lil’ mo). It’s almost like Avatar up in here. The tour continues tomorrow night in New Orleans before moving on to Miami, Houston and Atlanta over the next 10 days, and word on the commercial hip hop radio station is that you can get tix by going to Foot Locker and copping a pair of these Reebok joints. Meet us at the maaaalllll, we’re gettin shoooeeeesss.

Remember that time in 2nd grade when your parents came home with a Slip-N-Slide after seeing your sad attempts at making a bootleg one out of garbage bags held down with bricks? Remember how awesome that was? Remember how many glasses of Kool-Aid you slammed on the side of that shit? So good. Ryan Leslie turned it into a song (Still should’ve kept the talkbox though).

This is a different look for Diddy, hanging out in front of cheap motels and all. Fab too, probably. Is that what took so long for the video to come out? Was there some kind of “Hate Me Now” crucifixion scene condemnation, Diddy demanding last minute re-edits, only to realize popping champagne with Red Cafe wouldn’t be quite as easy as it was with Steve Stoute? That’s not how it works with the “Hottest In The Hood.” But also, we could’ve sworn we were getting a Fab verse out of this.
Fabolous f. Drake, “Throw It in the Bag RMX” MP3
While Drake is talking on his phone and texting, maybe checking on his latest $2 million wire transfer, you just go ‘head and shop til you drop. And honestly, if you’re gonna let a loved one buy you whatever you want, it’s better if they’re distracted before they hand over the black card, so they won’t judge your impulse decision to purchase the entire line of Teapups. Recession special: reality rap! Drake is the only new rapper who could remix this without sounding like a Vuitton full of merde. Well Spencer Pratt could do it, but then we’d have to kill ourselves, so here’s to hoping.

Aaaaand here’s part three of Def Jam’s videopocalypse, a lesson for all you ladies out there that shoplifting might put you in the bing but also might get you boned by Fabolous. It’s your choice ladies. Loso bonus clip, “It’s My Time,” with the ridiculous “Your Baby” joint with Ryan Leslie tacked at the end, after the jump .

Last night Def Jam had this elaborate “Spring Preview” of their new videos and releases at a fancy place with dinner. We didn’t go because we were still tired from the Sean Paul show the night before, and also it was nice out and who wants to sit in a banquet hall for five hours on the first nice night of the pre-summer. Luckily dudes cannot be trusted and LowKey flip-cammed everything, so if you wanna preview three pretty fucking amazing videos, The-Dream in space and/or half a Mariah track upped by somebody else, you should go to his vimeo spot before LA Reid sends over some robocops to reprogram his brain and ship him away to somewhere weird like Wales. Above: our summer recession-boyfriend anthem “Throw it in the Bag.” Sidebar: LowKey, are you the dude that bootlegged our copy of that Lindsey Lohan doppelganger stripper movie? Cause the sound was reallllay crappy.

Everyone on this song has made individual songs that we’ve jammed, all probably in the last week alone, or maybe we’re just overlooking our undying allegiance to DJ Enuff’s “Rush Hour,” but holy shit, Loso is on fire right now.

No kidding, when we hit play on this, the clouds in New York opened up just a little bit to stream sun on our pale asses for a hot second. If you’re cynical you’re probably saying this is just “the weather,” but we are fabulists and think it’s Fab and Dream puncturing Winter’s weak liver with a diamond-tipped summer jam shiv. PS-This is the official final version of the guide track we posted a month ago.

Video: Ryan Leslie Just Made a Beautiful Baby With Fabolous
- story THE FADER
Do we need to pause on that? It’s intentionally put that way. Just saying, the song, to be called “Your Baby” according to Eskay, is crazy and also features a hook provided by the rainmaker, FADER #52 cover star Keri Hilson, she of the top 10 album even though it came out almost a year after we thought it would. This video makes us happy because we’ve been saying for a while now that Leslie should be making summer jams for top flight NY rappers (Jim Jones’ “Precious” doesn’t count), and though Fab is not exactly expected to light up Billboard, we do portend quite a few impromptu dance parties in the coming months whenever this blasts from passing cars. Also, Leslie claims the talkbox isn’t on the final record and that is just not wise.
