Freeload: Brisco f. Flo-rida, “Love”

In a particularly seething Youtube video threatening Yung Berg’s life, Miami’s newest rap hero (and F57 Gen F, out soon!) Brisco makes the claim that he and Flo-rida are twin brothers. This has yet to be verified, but we’re thinking more “play cousins” or stepbrothers. Either way, the two team up promisingly for “Love,” proving that Flo-Rida isn’t only about sensual dancing, and Brisco isn’t only about picking on defenseless rappers.

Freeload: Junior Reid & Jah Cure f. Mavado & Flo-Rida, “Hot Long Time (Remix)”

You might find this elsewhere listed as a Mavado song called “Florida”, but it’s actually just taking over a remix of Junior and Jah’s “Hot Long Time” which has been on our radar for a few weeks. It’s not totally clear how Flo-Rida got on here, but you know, Jah Cure just did a song with mega-dubious Stack$, so this is actually a considerable improvement. And a good excuse to post a picture of a dog trying not be hot long time. (Thanks to Johnny Wonder for the tip-off.)

Audio: Flo-Rida f. Lil Wayne, “American Superstar”

In the future, when we are trading Lil Wayne bootlegs recorded to vinyl like it’s a live Grateful Dead recording, this song will probably be memorable because Lil Wayne says Open that Ferrari F5 like eyes, a simultaneously lazy and awesome line because it’s so obvious that it crosses the realm of lame and lands firmly in totally cool sounding territory. We’ll admit that we’ve been a little overwhelmed by the sheer number of Wayne tracks to cross our computers, but in the last couple weeks there have been some serious jams, rising from the mire of unfocusedness and into the realm of memorable. Flo-Rida also says messy just like a monster. Are monsters messy? Now that we think about it, yeah they probably are.

Audio: Rick Ross f. Flo-Rida, “Street Money”

The legend of Ricky Rossy continues this Saturday as NBC employs “Speedin” as the theme for its NASCAR Finals, but more importantly, we just got this new song off Trilla on which Rick does a little storytellin’ and a lot of his regular funny shit along with a Flo-Rida hook that might even be better than the one he did on his own “Birthday”.
