Freeload: Izza Kizza + Nick Catchdubs, The Wizard of Iz Mixtape
- story THE FADER
Is Izza Kizza on Twitter? It seems like something he should be up on. If not, someone tell him to get on so we can get constant updates about babybackbabyback ribs and his favorite Family Guy moments or something. Until that happens, we’ve got the brand new Nick Catchdubs mixed The Wizard of Iz and a release party at the Red Bull Space (40 Thompson St.) featuring a performance by Izz as well as DJ sets from Catch and 88-Keys. Grab the mixtape below, and RSVP for the party here.

- story THE FADER
Part music video, part unofficial ad for those weird new phones that are basically computers/child monitors/bad idea generators/life organizers comes this video for Izza Kizza’s “I’m the Izza Kizza,” casting Kizz as a robot with rainbow glasses before the whole thing devolves into 8-bit vibrant color madness. We’d ask dudes to lay off the seizure effects for just a little while if we didn’t secretly like it every time we saw it. (via Nah Right)
Video: Izza Kizza, “Hello”
- story THE FADER
If you Google “Izza Kizza,” The FADER dot com comes up only after Izza’s MySpace and legit website. We consider that some kind of achievement, but probably not on par with this new video for Izza’s “Hello” off he and Nick Catchdub’s Kizzaland mixtape. Izza explains:
My People….Here is a mix-tape video done by my boy Hectah. If you dont know… Ima school ya: Hectah is an amazingly talented multimedia artist who is responsible for all of my creative photos, graphics, artwork, myspace layouts, and viral videos. Basically he is the entire visual element of me, and we completely inspire each other. Hectah approached me and said that he wanted to try and do a video for a song from my Kizzaland mix-tape. He chose “Hello” since he thought it the song was crazy and “didn’t get the exposure it deserved”. Since we had zero money to make a video for a mix-tape, he had this idea of taking upwards of 20,000 photos on a small laptop in the i-photo program, and sequence them together in stop motion/ time lapse photography all in a mac i-book. I didn’t know what all of that meant at first (sounded like some flux capacitor -10,000- gigawatts back to the future type shit), so I just went with the flow and put my trust in him and his idea. I wasn’t sure what to expect, but the next thing you know I was walking around Union Square in NYC with a laptop strapped to my chest. Necessity is truly the mother of invention. Steve jobs would be proud. This is the final result….enjoy.

Freeload: Izza Kizza, “Millionaire”
- story THE FADER
Many of you may have now seen Forbes’ list of Hip-Hop’s 20 Biggest Earners, and you were probably just as surprised as us to see Chamillionaire getting more gwap than The Game, but less surprising was Timbaland hauling an impressive $22 million. So, if trickle down economics works even slightly in the Mosley Group, maybe Izza Kizza isn’t just participating in the kind of aspirational poetry of so many of our favorite rappers. Actually, strike that, we get the feeling Tim spends like nine grand a month on fancy jeans, so Kizz will need you all to go buy his new Mr Next Year EP out on Decon Records this fall.

If you hit this link or Google “Izza Kizza”, you will see that we have long been great supporters of the dude who goes by that name. We’ve put up seemingly endless songs and videos, did one of our own on FADER TV and we’re still supposed to go bowling with him at some point. However, if you’ve somehow managed to sleep through the chatter, here is your greatest chance to get some Izza Kizza in your life with the finally released Kizzaland mixtape (mixed by former FADER editor/DJ about town Nick Catchdubs). We don’t know what else to say at this point other than go get it. So go get it.

- story THE FADER
Lest ye think our man Izza Kizza is all jokes and his upcoming Kizzaland mixtape (July 29th) will be nothing but riffs on Stewie and what have ye, here is Izza getting a little political on the latest from said mixtape. Of course, you will probably have to spend a lot of valuable time getting at everything he’s saying, but that’s what pretending to work is all about.

- story THE FADER
We just got another track from Izza and Catchdubs’ upcoming (July 29th) mixtape Kizzaland, and this time, finally, it’s one that reminds to watch the Sesame Street pinball countdown videos on YouTube. All twelve of them. Because Izza interpolates what may have been the key influence in our young musical minds into his own counting chorus. We chose the number ten video because it has knights and medieval stuff and we have been around for ten years now so it felt right. And of course, Kizza being Kizza, there is a Sesame Street-jacking video to go along with the song.

- story THE FADER
UNEXPECTED. Here’s Izza Kizza working with some dude named Fitz the Art Teacher (who is apparently working on Detox, among other things) on “Georgie Porgie,” which sounds like ATLiens era Outkast. Not that Timbaland is the wrong choice for Kizza, but if working with other guys yields more songs like this, then he should probably keep moving in this direction. Can anything that reminds us of vintage Outkast be bad? Is that situation possible at all? We’ll leave that one open. This is from Kizza’s upcoming Nick Catchdubs mixed mixtape Kizzaland, out July 29th.

FADER TV: The Super Powers Of Izza Kizza
- story THE FADER
When Izza Kizza raps he is basically a cartoon character jumbling words on top of each other, altering his voice and flow and switching from hypnotic monotone to wildly animated every couple of seconds. We decided to take him to a comic book store and have him talk about whatever he found in there. It turns out that Izza Kizza is actually not a very big comics fan, but he does want a lot of super powers (basically all of them), and he does love Family Guy enough to buy a set of toys before leaving the store. After you watch the video, download “Hello,” below, which channels L.O.N.S. era Busta Rhymes and flips it for 2008 over a glitchy beat that sounds like it could have come from that one scene in Blade where blood rains out of the sprinklers at the weird goth club. “Hello” is from the upcoming Kizza mixtape Kizzaland mixed by FADER friend Nick Catchdubs.

Freeload: Izza Kizza, “Here I Iz!”
- story THE FADER
In many ways Izza Kizza binds the nuttiest, speediest strains of Eminem and Luda into absurd and humorous raps that we can’t get enough of. In other ways Izza Kizza makes us worry that he is insane and might show up to the office wearing disemboweled teddy bears. As long as he has an outlet in music, though, we’re not gonna worry too much about it. “Here I Iz!” is labeled as coming from Mr. Next Year, his debut album on Timbaland’s Mosley Music Group the tentative title for his upcoming mixtape with Nick Catchdubs.
