Long-running and long-funning Wednesday party The Hump is calling it quits on April 29th, but dry your butt’s eyes because our sis DJ Lindsey is moving on to even humpier pastures with the new Thursday night JAMS party at Le Poisson Rouge, joining FADER bros 4-ever Nick Catchdubs (Fool’s Gold) and Mattie Safer (Throne of Blood) for what we hope will be a long run of epic, sweaty, possibly partially undressed and probably partially memorable nights. And to get you psyched for the jump off JAMS, not coincidentally hosted by The FADER, the triumvirate blessed us with this brand new mix, which appropriately defines the lanes each will be swerving in come April 30th. Now that the Dow is below 1997 levels, we can all pretend that The Rapture is still a year away from forming, five years from releasing “House of Jealous Lovers,” six from the Echoes LP that the world slept on, and twelve whole years from yesterday when we asked the band’s Mattie Safer what he was up to and he said, “just busy writing.” Why did we ask and why would we want to erase the last decade? Because Safer’s recent mix for the Ed Banger Presents show on Le Mouv reminded us of the gaping hole in the dance universe left by The Rapture’s relative absence over the last couple of years. So maybe we just want to erase the last two years, but this mix is so good we’re hyperbolizing all over the place. < -- BEST SENTENCE EVER!!!!! Anyway, Mattie has killed it, as we say, and will be doing the same at WMC in Miami later this month while representing his Throne of Blood imprint. He is also jokingly “available for parties, weddings and bar mitzvahs” but probably only until we get back to the year 2000. Tracklist after the jump.
