Good News/Bad News: Dustin Wong’s Post-Ponytail Solo Album

September 02, 2010

Apologies if we're a little late to this party, but when it came through that Dustin Wong (no relation to FADER production sorceress, Ho-Mui Wong, M.D.) was releasing a new solo album/DVD on Thrill Jockey called Infinite Love, we realized that it had been a while since we heard anything from his band, Ponytail. Apparently, that's because the Baltimore partystarters are no longer a going concern as of their Whartscape performance in August. So that's kind of a drag. But all is not lost. On the plus side, we've got that aforementioned Infinite Love preview and it's pretty tantalizing. Laid back and pretty as hell, we almost can't wait for its October 5th release date. Still, though, a belated R.I.P. to Ponytail. (via MBV)

This week, we'll be hosting posts from The Tripwire, the FADER's source for every awesome thing in rock. Starting next week, The Tripwire will become a weekly column on TheFADER.com, combining the latest music, news, interviews, haiku reviews, cheekiness and a fairly healthy amount of guitars. Stay tuned!
