Damon Albarn and Jamie Hewlett of Gorillaz have spent 2010 on a large-scale tour supporting their album Plastic Beach. Sometimes they're joined by some of the albums featured guests like Paul Simon, Snoop Dogg and Lou Reed. In an interview this week, Albarn said that he was surprised by the success of recent shows but unsure whether or not they were "communicating an idea to an audience." He said he and Hewlett "always think that when we get to a point where we've achieved something that it's time to stop," and will assess their feelings about continuing in their current form in January once the tour's over. Don't worry too hard; Albarn made sure to qualify his comments as "not a statement," reminding us all that Gorillaz is a shapeshifting gang that will likely have hands in many projects, if not another full-blown tour. After the jump, see the video for "Welcome to the World of the Plastic Beach". The clip is used as a stage visual on tour, and features Snoop dancing the robot with only his eyes like Tyra and rapping for no more than four bars at a time like Gil Scott-Heron. (Via NME)
