Matthew Dear, “Slowdance (How to Dress Well Seance)” MP3

March 01, 2011

Describing How to Dress Well's remix of Matthew Dear's "Slowdance" as a seance might be annoying if it didn't actually make perfect sense. The track, a spaced-out, spooky, whispers-in-the-dark meditation on the original, seems calibrated to appeal as much to the spirit world as it will to the more corporeal among us. It would also make really kick-ass background music for your next haunted house party, just saying. Dear's Slowdance EP, slated to include further remixes of "Slowdance" and other songs from his Black City debut album contributed by artists including Nicolas Jaar and Todd Edwards, doesn't drop until April 5th. In the meantime you can have a listen to the aforementioned track and, if that doesn't quash your bare-bones cravings, might we suggest checking out How To Dress Well's hauntingly simple cover of R. Kelly's "I Wish", now finally available as recorded, embeddable audio.
