As it turns out, that Ini Kamoze "they call it merther/murder" sample is our favorite sound. Credit to Damian Marley for priming the post-millennial pump, a nod to Venus Iceberg X for chopping it up at the F72 release party, a wink to The Game for getting everyone breathing in 2006 to rap on "One Blood" which kind of reminds us of it. And an enormous gesture of gratitude to the dual legends of Australia's Mark Pritchard and the UK's Steve Spacek, who together as Africa Hitech lead Ini through five minutes of solid perc-stutter, the type of hyper-dance that makes you want to grow your hair out just to whip it around. It's an exalting tribute to the original track and its own beast altogether, indebted to roots reggae as much as it is to juke music and meteor showers.
