Theophilus London is well on his way to being a French superstar. At the Cannes Film Festival, in a very Riviera-appropriate hat, he ran through "Why Even Try" (above) and "Last Name London," (below) both for Canal+. Meanwhile, director (and former Palme d'Or winner, for Dancer in the Dark) Lars von Trier was banned from the festival for his manic ramblings about being a Nazi (he later apologized, calling his comments a "stupid joke."). There is little speculation that von Trier, a routine agitator, is an actual anti-Semite, instead that he has most likely, well, lost it. Regardless, it's a crass and unfortunate display. No word on how long the ban will last. Also no word on how many pretty French girls actually understood what Theophilus was saying before cooing wildly.
