It only took five days for Gorillaz frontman Damon Albarn and the sundry crew of miscellaneous super-producers he assembled—Actress, Dan The Automator, Marc Antoine, Jnerio Jarel and Richard Russell among them—to complete Kinshasa One Two. Teamed with Oxfam International and operating under the moniker DRC Music, the boys set out to the Democratic Republic of Congo to record, collaborate with, produce and highlight the immense talents of over 50 local artists. Check out the album trailer above, and stream three songs from the album below. Kinshasa One Two will be released digitally October 3rd on Warp Records, with a CD/vinyl release following on November 11th. All proceeds go to helping Oxfam’s work in the Congo, as well as the local performers featured on the release.
