Michael K. Williams to Play Ol Dirty Bastard in Upcoming Film

March 22, 2012

Michael K. Williams of The Wire, Boardwalk Empire and Community will play the late Ol Dirty Bastard in upcoming film, Dirty White Boy. The movie is based on the true story of Jarred Weisfeld, the kid who left a VH1 internship at age 22 to become ODB's manager. Joaquin Baca-Asay has been listed as the project's director. The project is his directorial debut, but Asay is no stranger to film, having acted as cinematographer and director of photography for a number of films, including Super Troopers. Brent Hoff, co-founder of the McSweeney's-published DVD magazine Wholphin, is penning the original screenplay. Both Weisfeld and ODB's mom, Cherry Jones, will cooperate in the production of the film.
