Brooklyn Bound: Poliça Live at Converse Rubber Tracks

June 11, 2012

There’s a great American tradition of New York being a welcoming port and FADER teamed up with Converse’s new Rubber Tracks studio in Brooklyn to further it. Once a month, we’ll be welcoming touring artists to the neighborhood with a visit to a local Brooklyn institution, as well as making time for an intimate performance. Catch that exclusive show, interview and MP3s right here.

Minneapolis natives Poliça are so frequently house guests of friend and Brooklyn-based producer JM Airis that the group opted to rent a hotel room in Manhattan during their most recent visit, "just to give him a break." They've not, however, explored every crevice of their friend's borough, as we were able to introduce them to the inconspicuous and homey Night of Joy bar. Well lubricated by the time they'd made their way down the street to Converse Rubber Tracks, the group powered through sultry and spellbinding jams like "Lay Your Cards Out" and "Wandering Star," before going into overtime to play brand new music for an adoring audience. Watch the performance clips above and below and stay tuned for the Poliça interview from Night of Joy.
