Every week a different FADER staff member will pick a clothing item or accessory that he or she has lately been spending a lot of time with—or would like to—and write a little love letter to it. We would’ve done a column on who we’re dating but that seemed a little bit much. This week Naomi talks about Moneyworth's Future T-Shirt.

I wore this Future shirt to a Future show a couple weeks ago, a gesture of fandom I can't remember committing at any other concert ever. Doing that felt more okay because the tee was created by a third party, Chicago art school kid/rap fan Meaghan Garvey, whose millennial crafts Etsy store Moneyworth also sells Aaliyah memorial candles and printed-out Lil B tweets. Garvey made the precise pencil drawing of Future featured here, where Future's lanky frame stands above his mantra of self-praise, YOU DESERVE IT, taken from his song of the same name. The shirt is soft polyester, vaguely transparent and looks appealingly worn-in even though it just came in the mail. The columns Future stands between on it look a little like suspenders, adding a silly air of formality to its otherwise straightforward shape. The morning after President Obama was elected to his second term, "You Deserve It" sounded especially great and I listened on loop for the entire morning, indulging, feeling proud. Who knows if this shirt will make it through the next election cycle, but it's nice right now.
