FADER PREMIERE
Following last year's "Hunt," Swedish trio DNKL share their second track today, "Battles," a sort of best-of-both-worlds bridging M83's earlier synth work and later rock styling, a meteoric track with no shortage of melancholy. The band say it's "about realizing who we really are throughout our struggles of endeavor, about who we wanted to be and who we became in the end, about the ones who betray us and who we betray back."

Battles is about realizing who we really are throughout our struggles of endeavor. It’s about who we wanted to be and who we became in the end, about the ones who betray us and who we betray back. That we are not perfect and that we basically need something better, something more than ourselves to put our hopes in.
