Sometimes I need something to drown out the noise in my head, something that floods my synapses with vibrations akin to the body's natural rhythm and resets my brain to a pre-scrambled state. Huerco S.—the Kansas City born, New York based producer of last year's fine Colonial Patterns album on Software—gets that. His hyper-textural, gently disintegrating techno missives have a soothing effect—they're less for dancing and more for meditative swaying, or at least that's what they do to me. His latest is a 12" on Anthony Naples’ Proibito label called A Verdigris Reader, which is out today (you can grab it here) and features the looping, swooping "B1 Untitled," which you can stream below. I can feel the tension dropping out of my shoulder already.
